Album Notes

I am a Brisbane based Teacher, Performer, Composer/Songwriter.

My first recording was with a band called “The Trusted Few” in the 1980’s. (the track “that’s what we are” appeared on the 4ZZZ State of Emergence Lp.)
I then joined “The Chrysalids” who enjoyed quite a substantial loyal following in Brisbane and we cut 2 vinyl singles, had a track included on the 4MMM Homegrown 3 compilation Lp and played very regularly within Brisbane, throughout south/east Qld and interstate.
The song “Stop The Clock” which I wrote for The Chrysalids did reasonably well on the independent charts of the time.

In the 1990’s I auditioned and was accepted into the Qld Conservatorium of Music where I studied the classical guitar with Julian Byzantine.
I then went on to complete a teaching degree with a major in music education at Griffith University.
During my studies I continued to be involved with performing locally with a variety of musicians, but with a more art for arts sake approach.
I also received several awards from the Australian Songwriters Association for my original compositions which were primarily guitar instrumental works.

Upon completion of my studies, I have held posts at a variety of Catholic Education based schools as an extra-curricular music specialist and I continue to conduct my own private music tuition business. I continue my love of teaching and enjoy seeing many students progress onto further studies and projects of their own.

My recent collaborations in recording, writing and performing have been with singer/songwriter “Phil Monsour” and with country/swamp band “Dirt Petty and the Drinkin’ Posse.”

I have just self financed and released my new recording “Destination Absolutely Elsewhere” which contains 10 of my latest original compositions.
