ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Seattle band Grand Hallway follows up 2007's full-length "Yes Is the Answer" with this EP, "We Flew Ephemera." It features two new songs ("Pearrygin" and "Long Way Down"), one full-band version of "Smiles Through Stale Breadcrumbs", two live acoustic tracks from a performance on Tokyo FM's A'll That Radio show, and a sprawling cover of Bjork's "Unravel". The unifying thread of the EP is the process of tracking the entire band live in the studio with an emphasis on improvisation and sticking to first takes with minimal editing. The resulting document shows the ensemble in the peak of musical rapport, speaking to one another fluidly and honestly, taking flight into the great unknown, embracing every rough edge with an open heart and discovering glimmers of pure beauty along the way.

REVIEW:

"Grand Hallway’s We Flew Ephemera could be summed up in one word: beautiful." - Rachel L, KEXP.ORG

"If its full-length, Yes Is The Answer, proved Grand Hallway could create orchestral pop masterpieces in the studio, the band's new EP, We Flew Ephemera, leaves no doubt that it can replicate the magic live." - Seattle Sound Magazine
