Album Notes
Grand Old Grizzly is Will Thomas: Lead Vocals, Guitars, Mark Riddell: Bass, Vocals, Keys & Percussion, and Paul Beebe: Drums, Vocals, Guitars. Live shows put Paul Beebe on the Guitar and Chris Lewis on the Drums. During the recording of this album a few guests stopped by to contribute. Hunter Perrin who has toured as a member of John Fogerty's band, and currently fronts Thunderado, added some of his desert rock guitar to Approaching Cars and Desperate Times. Dustin Welch, an Austin live musician staple and currently fronting his own band, put up some crushing banjo on both Morning and Marvelistic Coward Band. Craig Feazel, pedal steel/guitarist for the Small Sounds and Katie Stuckey added some pedal steel and/or guitar to The Sundowners, Lament, I Was Thinkin' and Pretty Little Head.
The album was recorded at Beebe Gunn studios, in Houston, Texas.

The sound of Grand Old Grizzly falls somewhere inside that infinitely broad "Americana" music genre. Cleverly crafted songs with a blend of Folk/Indie/Rock/Country influenced instrumentation are complemented with strong vocal harmonies. The unique musical experiences that each band member brings to Grand Old Grizzly creates a sound that is welcoming to people who might normally prefer other types of musical genres.

What’s the story behind the name, you may ask yourself? Once upon a time at a gig in L.A… after some spirited pre-show preparation, Will started calling himself Grizzly. Perhaps as a mockery of his large, disheveled red beard, the shamelessly self-given nickname stuck. Thusly, Grand Old Grizzly was born.
