Album Notes
The Grand Teton Music Festival (GTMF) has been serving the Jackson Hole community for 58 years. Each summer, more than 200 musicians from North America’s top orchestras and institutions of higher learning gather for seven weeks of orchestral and chamber music led by internationally acclaimed Music Director Donald Runnicles. The biggest names in classical music, such as Renée Fleming, Joshua Bell, Yefim Bronfman, and Yo-Yo Ma, appear with the Festival Orchestra weekly. The summer lineup includes an expanding roster of free family concerts, classical crossover and jazz concerts, and a weekly movie series, all presented in traditional and non-traditional venues throughout Jackson Hole. For the past three consecutive years, The New York Times has ranked GTMF as one of the nation’s Top Ten Classical Music Festivals, while The Wall Street Journal has named the Festival as “one of the best places in this country to hear classical music in [the] summer.”

In addition to its flagship summer festival, GTMF conducts various educational outreach programs in local schools and presents a Winter Festival in February as well as monthly community concerts and broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera’s Live in HD series. The Festival also has a 13-part national radio broadcast “Live from the Grand Teton Music Festival,” co-hosted by Donald Runnicles and Andrew Palmer Todd. Through its year-round schedule of diverse programming and passion for classical music, GTMF creates exhilarating and memorable musical experiences.

The Grand Teton Music Festival is the single largest presenter of cultural events in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, reaching a total audience of 17,000 patrons each year. GTMF is a 4-star charity as rated by Charity Navigator and has a Platinum Seal of Transparency from GuideStar.
