ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Greg Harris and the Little Rock Community Choir

Blazing a trail from obscurity to prominence, Greg Harris and the Little Rock Community Choir, has arrived with a brand new project: “live In Little Rock”

A native Arkansas, Greg Harris grew up in the Pentecostal church. He began playing the piano in the seventh grade, but because of shyness, he had to be bribed into singing.

In 1993, he made an attempt to record with a group that he had established called “Little Rock on Fire”
The attempt failed and Greg decided to give up the desire to record or sing. God soon changed Greg’s mind by moving a friend to invite him to sing on a live recording in Louisiana. His ministry of music was truly anointed by God and Greg knew that God was telling him that it was time to try again.

In 1994, Greg formed The Little Rock Community Choir this is an interdenominational group of young people who have developed into a powerhouse of disciplined singers.

Greg, who at the time was a gospel radio announcer, was ready for the next move of God. During one of his radio programs, Cabis Maurice Brown, the owner of Leo Records called into the station, and their aired discussion led to a live debut recording on Leo Records entitled “Songs from the Heart.”

His obscure past has given way to a prominent blessed future. Greg Harris and the Little Rock Community Choir is winning hearts every where as they minister in song. His credits include being the first writer/musician from the state of Arkansas to have his work accepted in the Gospel Music Workshop of America’s New Music Seminar (1989-1992.) and Greg’s song “You Better Tell Somebody was accepted in the Mass Choir of the Gospel Music Work shop of America (2001.)

He has been a gospel radio announcer for over a decade. Greg has recorded five records during his career. Thankfully, Leo Records nationally released one of the five records.

Greg Harris and the Little Rock Community Choir has traveled far and near. They have had the opportunity to grace the stage with some of the top gospel artist such as Bobby Jones, Albertina Walker, Kirk Franklin, Evangelist Ester Smith, The Chicago Mass Choir, The Williams Brothers, Five Young Men, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC’s Charlotte Chapter of the GMWA and many others. They have appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel and the Apollo Theater in New York. This famed choir has inspired former President Bill Clinton’s heart and other as they sang at the 1996 National Democratic Rally in Little Rock.
