Album Notes
What is Rock Mountain Slack Key?

It really doesn't exist, except in the dreams of a lonely old Colorado cowboy.

After many years of wandering up and down the spine of America they call the Rocky Mountains, the cowboy finally came to rest. As he lay by a calm snow-melt lake, he fell into a deep sleep. Suddenly he was awaken by a beautiful Hawaiian woman with flowers in her hair and mischief in her eyes. She led him to a distant land where cowboys are called "Paniolo" and cattle graze on lava plumes called "Pu'u". With one foot in the stirrup and his hands on the guitar, he began to play as if guided by a some distant memory. His spirit soared like never before!

Just then, a gentle summer rain began to dance on his face. He awoke from his dream. " Just another day on the continental divide", he thought. But he knew...his spirit had been changed forever and his song would never remain the same.

This album is the result of a true personal story. After many years of touring with bands both big and small, playing the music of someone else, one day I found my own voice. And in doing so discovered a creativity and joy inside that I never new existed. I may be the first and last "Rocky Mountain Slack Key" artist but the experience itself of creating this album will forever define me. I hope you enjoy these songs and the ones to come as much as I do bringing them to you. Thank you and Mahalo a nui loa!
