Album Notes
Greg Walker’s fifth album, Caffè Gio (April 2016) features ten compositions blending latin and jazz flavours with laid-back, thematic, atmospheric and chilled grooves. The penultimate track - Rio Geo, Revisited - is a reinterpretation of his original piece, Rio Geo, which appeared on Straight From The Source 1 and is often cited as a favourite from that album.

Seven-time multi-category finalist and semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest in categories as diverse as instrumental, acoustic, pop and jazz & blues, guitarist/composer Greg Walker’s jazz and latin-infused instrumentals helped his albums Straight From The Source 1 and Straight From The Source 2 achieve success in the mp3 Jazz and Brazilian jazz charts, with SFTS1 holding the no.1 slot for several weeks during the mid-2000s.

Straight From The Source 2 was released in 2006, with the track I Should Know By Now also reaching the finals of the Instrumental category in that year’s UK Songwriting Contest.

End Of Summer (January 2012) again featured several tracks that reached the semi-finals in the UK Songwriting Contest.

The 12 instrumental compositions from September 2015’s release, Mosaic, drew on a range of influences from latin, Brazilian and jazz to film scores, finger style guitar and more. Three tracks from Mosaic reached the finals and semi-finals of the 2015 edition of the internationally renowned UK Songwriting Contest.

Greg also co-wrote the soul dancefloor hit, Second Opinion (performed by Victor Haynes and included on the album Soul Togetherness 2009, together with tracks by Chaka Khan, Incognito and others).

Tragic news
Sadly, Greg Walker passed away on 17 May 2016....may his soul rest in peace. A huge loss ....such a talented musician and a wonderful, warm soul. The 5 stars are for the wonderful albums he has left us to enjoy.

RIP Greg
Such a gifted composer, musician and artist. Such a fine human being. I can hardly believe he is no longer with us. I'm thankful for all the great music and all great rants. He won't be forgotten.

Exciting new tunes
Terrific new album by Greg Walker, full of soothing soft jazz sounds. A haven of real and crafty performed music between all the garbage (Voice of, Idols etc) that sees the light nowadays. Greg's inspirations are clear: Lee Ritenour, Larry Carlton, Acoustic Alchemy. Even some echoes of Pink Floyd's 'Great gig in the sky'. However, this album is neither of them. It's Greg Walker with his inimitable style and sound. His best album up to date, which is outstanding considering his fabulous earlier albums. A must buy.

Outstanding album from a brilliant guitarist and composer
Wow !! I was so looking forward to adding this to my Greg Walker collection, and it has surpassed my expectations !! From the intricate and sensitive guitar work to the lush, orchestral backdrops, this album is a surefire winner in every respect.I have every one of his albums, each one a masterpiece in its own right, but this album transcends the already high standard set by its predecessors. Do yourself a favour, and let the warm and passionate sounds surround you and sweep you off your feet, taking you on an emotional and spine-tingling journey during which you will be awed by the majesty and grace that Greg captures in his smooth-jazz style. Brilliant from the first track to the last. An unequivocal 10 out of 10.
