Album Notes
It is one thing to only rap about life in the streets of Detroit, Michigan but it is also important to have the credibility of the street life. This musical street credibility defines the up and coming rapper, Grip. Being surrounded by other local rappers and producers, Grip was encouraged to pick up the microphone and spread his truth. Hence, Grip began to pursue his music aspirations. Grip’s, life experiences from being born and raised on Detroit’s eastside, has contributed to the development of his well-rounded character and bold personality, which shows through his lyrics. Yet he maintains his humility which has earned him much respect from his peers, audience and other musical artists. Grip’s lyrics, composition, and tone of voice has gained him the recognition to be featured on several tracks of well known Detroit artists. September 2019 Grip will release his first EP entitled, Trips and Trenches. Grip will introduce listeners to his pain and struggles from growing up in Detroit and the experiences of his neighborhood. Most importantly, Grip wants listeners to begin to understand that rapping is a positive outlet in the lives of him and his peers.
