Album Notes
Here are our liner notes... see more at our band photos at our web site at

Here's our fearless leader Steve taking a well-deserved break from a hard day in the studio. A native of Beautiful Downtown Burbank, California, and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Steve lived in Los Angeles and taught school for several years after college, teaching various subjects including Algebra, History, Special Education, Band, and Chorus. He now resides in San Diego and attends Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Steve wrote all of the music and most of the lyrics on the album, and plays acoustic and electric guitars, piano, bass, and harmonica, as well as handling most of the vocal chores. When not working or performing, Steve enjoys mountain biking, racquetball, sailing, and having thoughtful, engaging conversations with the voices in his head.

Mark Spillman, a native of Glendale, California and Steve's best friend since they were fifteen years old, is the executive producer of the album as well as co-lyricist on several cuts. In addition to being the financial brains behind the vast GLP financial empire, "One-Take" Spillman, called "The Colonel" by most but also known as "King of the Cowbell", "Count of the Clavés", and "Marquis of the Maracas", played percussion on several tracks. Many have called him the greatest maracas player since Davey Jones, even better than Tracy Partridge. Mark is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz and works in advertising and marketing. He currently works as a freelance creative director in Los Angeles, where he resides with his lovely and glamorous wife, Leslie (née Neuman) and their three daughters. Send e-mail to

Dan Perryman, a native of the great state of Illinois, plays the trumpet and flugelhorn on the album. He and Steve have been good friends for over ten years since they worked together in the same hellish sweatshop workin' for the Man. Luckily, they both escaped with their lives and Dan now teaches school in the Los Angeles area where he lives with his wife and two daughters.

Drummer Bruce Cook, a direct descendent of the famous British explorer Captain James Cook, is from the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Minnesota. After teaching English in the Los Angeles region for many years, he has returned to his home state to continue his education. Bruce recorded his own solo album, Begin Again, several years ago.
