ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Put Your Seat Belt On is a song that was in my IDEAS LIBRARY for years. I kept debating in my head if I should make another album, or release singles that could lead up to an EP. I decided to try releasing singles; that way fans are getting the music sooner instead of waiting for me to release another album (in spite of it being fresh to new ears, Meet Groovy Nate was released in 2009). The message is simple: PUT YOUR SEAT BELT ON, and BUCKLE UP FOR SAFETY (perhaps a song about not texting while driving will come soon). Dig that: a PSA with a strong go-go beat! Now let's talk about the music. In this song I'm drawing on many influences from the world of go-go: Chuck Brown, Junkyard Band, Trouble Funk, Little Benny and the Masters, EU, and Rare Essence (and Uncle Devin-the children's drumcussionist-is the vessel allowing the vibes to go through--TESTIFY!) The other main ingredient to "The Groove Brew" are the synth sounds, influenced by early Tangerine Dream, Stockhausen, Sun Ra, and Brian Eno (all sounds performed on the iVCS3, ARP Odyssei, BOSS RC-300, and Garage Band). The vocals come from many places: family members, friends, students, teachers, and of course, BEYONDER. Special thanks to Kofi Rozzell of Invisible Arts Labs for his engineering expertise.

Enjoy these groovy sounds; but remember, if you're listening to this song in a vehicle, BUCKLE UP FOR SAFETY.
