Debutante / + FVA

by Grubspoon

Debutante is a straightforward driving rock song. The bassline propels us. The guitars rev and then explode. The lyrical melody is a double entendre of punk ethos swirling with breathless burlesque. And after its caress, FVA punches you in the face.

the deal:
Born of the DC/Baltimore indie/punk club scene of the mid-2000s, Grubspoon has been quietly lying in wait for several years. After brief rebirths, name changes, and experiments with new members, three of the original members have officially reformed. Amidst buzz of their first new record in nearly 10 years, East Coast shows have begun to pop up. Never fear though, time hasn’t tamed these guys. Grubspoon’s brand of indie rock swerves between dark, fervent, yet epic hooks, and straightforward driving melodies that twist and morph into a frenzy of hectic vigor. Although a record release date has not yet been announced, there’s no doubt that Grubspoon is back in the scene, and like never before.
