Album Notes
George Sheffield sings and writes solid country songs. His latest CD is Country Times and contains 13 original songs. From the humorous, upbeat "Wedding Bells Are Ringing Divorce Blues" to the haunting, heart-rendering "A Thousand Lies", the music on this CD is pure country (with a dash of rockabilly). The songs touch on traditional country themes such as the joys of a love gone good, the sorrows of a love gone bad, faith in God, Old Glory patriotism, and even a rousing train song. With the backup of the standards of country music instruments—the fiddle, the lap steel, a twangy electric guitar--George’s distinctive country vocal style produces a CD that will set your foot tapping to the upbeat tunes and may even cause your eyes to mist on the sadder songs. So sit back, turn up the volume, and hear the country heart of George Sheffield. And as George would say, “Thanks for listening”.
