Album Notes
Winner of the Parents' Choice Gold Award, the CMW "Best Recording for Older Children" award, and the coveted Publishers Weekly 'Listen Up' award!

"As much for adults to enjoy as children, with fab, sophisticated instrumentals and vocals. It's as witty as all get-out and often unexpectedly touching, too." - Los Angeles Times

"Off-beat sense of humor, unexpectedly beautiful melodies, and instrumentals that are as adult as they get, without losing sight of young listeners. Madsen is a one-of-a-kind delight." - Parents' Choice Foundation

"Gunnar Madsen, founder of the genre-busting a cappella group The Bobs, is back with another uproarious, dizzyingly imaginative children's album. Nowhere else, we guarantee, will you find songs like Madsen's drowsy ode to daydreaming, "Welcome to My Fog," his wacky tall tale "And the Children Rolled," and the bizarre "Mayonnaise and Pumpernickel Bread," which defies description." - Family Fun Magazine

Gunnar Madsen entered the world of children's entertainment by accident. The acclaimed acapella group he founded and wrote for, The Bobs, were known for their witty and adult lyrical twists and complex musical arrangements. But their unique all-vocal sound won them a surprise popularity with children.

Inspired by this audience demographic, Gunnar began writing songs for children and their families. His first commercial recording for children, Old Mr. Mackle Hackle, received tremendous national acclaim. The phenomenal success of that recording inspired this follow-up CD: Ants in My Pants! Gunnar tours the country with his family-friendly shows, and has also written a book, "Old Mr. Mackle Hackle", published by Little, Brown.

Gunnar's enjoys writing in many genres, and has received commissions from Lincoln Center, the Los Angeles Theater Center, the Minnesota Opera, Oberlin Dance Collective, ISO Dance Theater, National Public Radio and many others. He has written music for the feature films "Breaking the Rules", "A Special Providence", and "The Break Up". He is a performer on the soundtrack of "At Play in the Fields of the Lord," in the National Geographic Special "Asteroids: Deadly Impact," and is featured as the emotionally charged voice of Sammy Davis, Jr. in the Emmy-award winning HBO film, "The Rat Pack." His instrumental CD "Spinning World: 13 Ways of Looking at a Waltz" is a perennial best-seller on CDBaby, and is well known from it's placement on HBO's "Sex and the City" and in feature films.

Wildly entertaining and highly recommended selections
Gunnar Madsen's Ants In My Pants offers wildly entertaining and highly recommended selections for kids that range from Elvis-style "rock & roll" to Western swing and pop-powered funk. The lively and engaging songs include Welcome To My Fog...

I loved it!
I love Gunnar Madsen and this CD is another excellent example of his wonderful zany music. I bought Mr. Mackle Hackle for my daughter and Ants in my Pants for ME!

Be warned that excited parents might revert back to the terrible two's of "Mine!
If you're the kind of parent that buys toys for your kids that you secretly want for yourself, scooting the little tykes off to bed so you can fit in a little playtime for yourself, this album is for you; but try not to hog all the fun. Having started out as an avant garde, comedically irreverent a capella group for adults, his unexpected popularity among kids has kept the theatrical eccentricities coming; it remains to be seen who is going to win out this time with the most giggles. From an Elvis impersonation with ants in his pants to a peek into the world of All Pirate Radio, this insanely imaginative follow-up to his critically acclaimed "Old Mr. Mackle Hackle" will invite no questions as to why this artists took 7 major awards, including a Parents' Choice Gold, NAPPA Gold, Oppenheimer Gold and the CMWA "Best Recording for Older Children" award. Off the beaten path
Unique song ideas which are a refreshing release from the same children's themes. This one captures the imagination of children and their imaginateive parents too. Vocal quality is capable of many styles; plus you've gotta love those harmonies!

For Adults and Kids!
I bought this CD (and the Mr. Mackle Hackle CD) on impulse in a bookstore. I'm always on the lookout for music that the kids will enjoy and understand, and yet me and my husband won't be bored to tears. This CD fits the bill. I just bought extras of both to give as gifts when the kids are invited to birthday parties. Much better than another toy in a mound of toys.

Stylish music that kids and adults love
This is the best, most inventive, kids' music I know of. Both elementary and middle school children, (and their parents), will enjoy this. The many styles of music,(Elvis, Cowboy, etc) are fun and exhibit good musicianship.
