"Her articulate touch alone should endear her to fans of Evans and Jarrett, as should the intimate and seemingly intuitive rapport sustained by her quartet throughout 'Mindful.' ...elegantly bridges soul-searching passages with uncluttered swing." -Washington Post

"a stunning quartet." -AllAboutJazz.com

A subtle storm unfolds and pearls pop through the morning dew" -Downtown Music Gallery

"Fine musicians seem to be among Iceland's most visible exports these days, and pianist Sunna Gunnlaugs is proof that jazz is as much a part of the picture as the pop of Björk or Sigur Ros." -Time Out New York

Sunna Gunnlaugs, a native of Iceland, came to the USA in 1993 to attend the prestigious jazz program at William Paterson College. She has toured the US, Europe and appeared at the major Canadian festivals. She has been featured in the Washington Post, Virginian Pilot and more

Nice sounds
A very lyrical approach, both in the playing and the writing. Tenor saxophone, piano bass & drums- classic jazz quartet. The tenor player on here is definitely worth hearing as well.

Listen to it on a friday night and i was really enjoying the nice mood of that music.
