Album Notes
The Irish diaspora to America brought the happy gift of Irish music, informing and influencing folk, ragtime, blues and even jazz. In this unique collection of original and traditional music, Celtic American musician Marc Gunn leafs through music known, remembered and new to find common themes, melodies and memories.

The Bridge is just that – a connection not only between Irish and American music, but also between Marc Gunn’s previous work primarily in Celtic music and his roots in folk, and newer influences of blues and jazz for this New Orleans-based musician.

Above all, the Bridge expresses Marc Gunn’s deep love for the music of both his home and where his heart resides.

Produced by Rich Brotherton. Marc Gunn, autoharp and vocals. Jamie Haeuser, bodhran and background vocals. Samantha Gillogly, fiddle. Bethany McLyr, flute. Rich Brotherton, Guitar and octave mandolin.

Cover art by Marc Gunn inspired by Claude Monet.
Graphic design by Davis Creative.

Marc has done it Again!
Very Cool Marc! While outside classical Celtic This album is absolutely outstanding!

A Great Album
Marc Gunn is a great artist and this is one of his best albums. You should buy it.

Great CD
This cd reminds me of something I can’t put my hands on what that is I don’t know. A great gem of music the old and new Celtic music, with a real Chicago feel.

Warming the Heart
Marc's passion for and grasp of the huge genre he embraces in this album are evident in every shining note. His voice evokes a timeless place in a country pub with a dozen friends and neighbors enjoying a cup of cheer by the warmth of the hearth. I'm transported every time I listen to The Bridge. "The Bridge" is a gem, and it kicks off an album of beautiful original and traditional songs. His version of "Peggy Gordon" is serenely beautiful, gritty, wrenchingly emotive. I've said enough; except to say: this world needs artists like Marc. Support him, and you'll be richer for it.

Marc's Best Yet
This CD is Marc's best yet. Whether he is doing surprising new versions of old favorites like Gypsy Rover and Black Velvet Band, sharing songs written for humans and their cats, giving us original songs like the incredibly touching "The Bridge" or "No Songs Left to Sing," or showing an entirely new side with my personal favorite, "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea," Marc sings with real feeling and a true love for American and Celtic musical styles. And the accompanying band rocks!

Great mix of music
This CD is a great compilation of songs of different speeds and feel that transition into each other smoothely. Not only is the music great, but the CD's case is great as well with its design allowing it to open so you can put your CD inside and not worry about it falling out and the very artistic picture of Monet's Bridge coverig the whole case. In summary this a great CD worth every cent of the $15.

Great Album of Mixes
This one is a bit coloring outside the lines for me. Normally I am quite found on just traditional Celtic music and than somewhere down my life's path I had to encounter this artist. He loves to give Celtic music a twist of it's own. Somehow I feel this album is great for new fans to discover this overly productive great musician. I do not really know how to file it. My guess should be Celtic blues. What can I say further? Listen to it yourself!
