Nobody Knows I'm Here

by Guymon Ensley

"Nobody Knows I'm Here" is one of my many styles of writing. It was originally written and performed by my Quintet, "GEQ," but I decided to record the number as a Big Band arrangement, adding low brass to give it that "POP."
Genre: Jazz: Modern Big Band

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Composing is my passion. For many years, I've performed and recorded several genres of music, including Classic European. R&B and Motown were my favorites for decades and later joined by Jazz, classic "Straight Ahead" Jazz. It was a genre that I loved, but stayed away from for years because of the 'improvisation' component of this style of music. However, I loved listening to and performing and recording in the horn sections. Finally though, after a great deal of coaxing, I dove in, studying with talented instrumentalist and got a handle on improvisation and began composing numbers for my band "GEQ" to perform and then record. More recently, when genres expanded into what is now known as Contemporary Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Neo Jazz and Fusion, I began to compose in that style as well. So my catalog of recorded music continues to grow and I hope to expand the repertoire of many more artists.
