Album Notes
Notes from the composer Guy-Roger Duvert :

"Two years after my album "Pirates", I am releasing a new thematic symphonic album, this time in the realm of heroic fantasy, a genre I specifically like. First, the idea was to compose a second and much darker Pirates album (the first track composed in that direction being track 3 "Blood and Flames"). But quickly, the desire to make a thematic album around fantasy became stronger (a Pirates II might still become reality one day, though).

The big lines of a story were actually drawned in order to compose this score. Some dark legends, the awakening of a necromancer, two adventurers (a barbarian warrior and a female rogue with magical abilities), an old massacre, the beginning of alliances in preparation for a war, a quest in order to find a relic, a siege, some betrayals, the rise of a demon by the necromancer, the death of the leader of the "good guys", a final heroic battle... All this allowed the creation of several strong recurrent themes.

Since my previous score album, Pirates, I was lucky enough to work on many great projects, working on some long feature films, and on trailers (Transformers 3, Sarah's Key, Green Lantern...etc). All these experiences have brought me new ideas to develop, which explains the size of this album. At the end, this is a personal project I'm very proud of, and I hope you'll enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed composing it.
