Wenn es Dich nicht gaebe

The "Operette" is back with all its' kitsch, pathos, humor and big orchestration. Especially the first waltz "Wenn es Dich nicht gaebe" picks up the good old German/Viennese operetta style as perfectly performed by Johannes Heesters.

Album Notes
How wonderful you found my site and my CD "Wenn es Dich nicht gaebe". For me this CD is something very special. Did I ever do an operetta-style song? No - I use to perform as a singer and songwriter with English songs and German chansons (like to invite you to my homepage).

And suddenly this happened to me: One day a very dear friend of mine said to me "Wenn es dich nicht gaebe, wuerde ich Dich erfinden", which means "If you wouldn't already exist, I would invent you" - which was extremely lovely of him. I thought by myself, whow, that's a hook line for a new song. And immediately this melody reached me: a classical waltz. So, I started to write it down and finally we created an orchestral production.

Here we are with this Viennese-style operetta love song. The tune seems to be very catchy, at least every one of us can't get it out of his head - it would be lovely, if the same thing will happen to you ;-)

Fabulous! Here´s to the magic of love!
What a great title for a song! You should write more operettas! I love the German Vienese flair. Reminds me of sitting in a café in Vienna, or shall I say Berlin? I listened to this track once and just couldn´t get it out of my head. Ein Ohrwurm, an earworm??? Finally pressed repeat and waltzed my way into the kitchen. Thank you for the great song!
