ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The second in a trilogy

“the Second” has as a subtitle “a progressive rock album” and probably comes closest to Haigreen’s heart. The album contains some long, epic-like songs with plenty of signature changes and a distinct message. The catchy melodies keep it interesting for any listener, even for those who are not into progressive music.

Born in the sixties, Haigreen has been a music aficionado since the early days of Queen. At the age of 16 with disco at its peak, he picked up his first guitar and learned playing by practicing "Rainbow on stage", "Unleashed in the East" and "Strangers in the night". He developed an interest for jazz, fusion and progrock, exploring his natural instinct for odd-time signatures and complex chord progressions. Later on his appreciation for EDM, rap, crossover and classical music evolved.

Playing in bands has always been a very inspiring and enjoyable experience. But no band would ever match his versatile songwriting, ranging from all styles listed above, and beyond. As a matter of fact, trying to catch them on one “Haigreen” album would be unappealing to most listeners. Therefore several titles are compiled, each with their own arbitrary selection of styles. Sweet songs, simple songs, engaged songs, sad songs, angry songs, complex songs, cheerful songs. However, a unique style, usually with a predominant role for the guitar and always with a great sense of melody and harmony.
