ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Entering their 15th year as one of Colorado’s most acclaimed and hardest-working bands, Halden Wofford & the Hi*Beams know a thing or two about perseverance. Missing Link takes an unflinching look at the forces that buffet a man in this modern world, and celebrates the scant comfort he can find. Anchoring the album is a five-song suite beginning with the title track. In Missing Link, frontman Halden Wofford spins a darkly humorous tale cataloging the burdens he shoulders every day, only to reveal in the chorus the four things that sustain him: Johnny Cash, Link Wray, Lou Reed and Nick Cave. The Hi*Beams then put their Rocky Mountain Honky Tonk spin on a song by each of these venerable songwriters. What may at first seem an unlikely collection proves to be a perfect mission statement for a band has followed a nothing but their own creative impulse for many years.
