ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Halim El-Dabh's electronic music compositions call forth mystical, haunting and humbling voices which melt into sound.

From a Cairo radio station in 1944 to the studios of Columbia Princeton his electronic music has led to him being proclaimed "the father of electronic music" by Wire magazine in 2007.

Along with electronic music, he has written profusely for opera, symphony, ballet, orchestra and chamber, drawing inspiration from the heart of cultures in Africa and Asia where he has researched extensively.

Crossing into the Electric Magnetic is a timely classic.
