ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Handsome poets music is cross generational pop music for the masses!" - Steve Bowman ex-Counting Crows

This album is the best of the previous five albums and is unique in that the bands fans chose the songs. Over a hundred people responded to a questionaire and a tape and chose their favorites out of a possible 40 selections. We think it works great!

"Handsome Poets' pop cocktail is a mixture of sharp geeky wisdom with a trace of the clear, sparkling melancholy Love let flow through ForeverChanges: fed through squeaky-clean electronics it might be, but it's there... you should do yourself a favor and buy this album , you'll like them...." - Dann Chinn Misfit City

Cool record. Where are they now?
People often say there will always be a place for melody and this band really proves it. According to their web site - which has now mysteriously disappeared - Handsome Poets are two guys called Stephen Duffy (not Tin Tin!)and Dale John Ward from the UK but based in California. That really comes through because the songs have a combination of that English edginess with a more mellow Californian pop mentality. These songs were recorded in the late 90s so they perhaps show their age a wee bit, but make for very enjoyable mellow pop. What happened to these guys? They should have been STARS because they obviously know how to write songs. Duffy's voice is soothing and expressive while Ward's guitar style is understated and is perfectly placed in the mix. For fans of Counting Crows you will find their members on this record too, so Handsome Poets are obviously well connected in the music scene. Wherever you are, Handsome Poets, COME BACK!

Brilliant
Sound of fog horns cooing across the ocean, acoustic guitar inviting me deep undersea, plaintive voices, sitting by the ocean, sounds of desire, sadness and hope, music to feel by. I love this album. Thanks, mosh baby, for turning me onto the handsome poets. I want more.

Outstanding Collection
This is an outstanding compilation of the Handsome Poets best songs. It takes me back to the early 90's and those funky pop sounds. These guys (and girl) should have been huge, but it just goes to show how fickle the music industry is, and what a fine line exists between talent and success.
