ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I wrote a song and brought into an open mic in Carson City Nevada. Showed it to the host band and they really tore it up. Simple song. But it gave me the confidence to keep going. I started to bring a new song in every week. It became a thing for the band to give me a hard time when I would walk in on open mic night. They would say, here comes Rusty T, I guess we are gonna have to learn a new song tonight. LOL. I wrote a lot of bad ones. But , eventually they started to take shape. I started to get the better musicians coming up to play. So naturally the songs started sounding better and better. I eventually got my first band together. Played a few gigs. Kept playing on my own. Got a gig in Virginia City for a whole summer doing Friday nights a s a solo act. Very hard to do. Especially when you know maybe 5 cover tunes, LOL. Finally after meeting many musicians over the last few years . Getting to know my recording partner and writing collaborator, Tristan Selzler. And then having access to the University of Nevada in Reno Jazz Major graduates and current members. Well . I was talking with Taj Mahal in Florida . Yes the Taj Mahal. And he was telling about one of his songs i asked him about. That he had hired some great musicians to record with. That if you want to make good music. Hire some really good musicians. So from that day. I have always looked for the best musicians i could get access to. I have some things I'm working on with Jimmy Zavalla,,(Jimmy Z) We did Tic Toc Together. Jimmy played with Rod Stewart, The Eurythmics, Tom Petty, Etta James. And many more. I Started to get my own recording studio put together. Got Tristan and the UNR Jazz Cats. I wrote Jupiter girl. Invited some of them over on Sundays. We would sit around , play music and have a bbq every weekend. Thats where The Funky Brass Mass Came From. Hank Twangy is a name i made up one day talking with Martina Dayton, Bass player in my first band and in the open mic band. But that name popped out and stuck. The Funky Brass Mass name came soon after. But it has been a great life to experience. Im new to all of this. But I think we have come up with a unique sound. The Hank Twangy sound. These are some great songs. All gone over and over to get just right. But all of it is played live as well. I am very proud to present this CD for everyone to listen to.I hope you enjoy all of it. It is definitely a musical journey that can let you take a ride and experience the Twangy Ride. Thanks for all your support. look forward to meeting many new friends and musicians. Thanks to : (Guitar)Shawn Tamborini, (Vocals ) Darcy kathleen, (Vocal Part Jupiter Girl)Tyler Cravines.
