ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Big Bang Machine marks the ambitious debut album from Annapolis, Maryland songwriter, Greg Harris. First conceived as a concept album, Harris enlisted the help of local Producer and Engineer, Noel S. White of Mill Creek Studio to help him carve out the Seventy-Four minute tale. It’s all held together by soundscape instrumentals of swirling birds, crickets, clocks and other noises Harris had created from field recordings from his travels during the last decade. Joining him are his brother, Chris, on guitar and keyboards (also accredited with co-engineering on several tracks), White on Percussion, Kristina Train and Zack Branch on violin and cello, and Larry Melton on Bass. The end result offers a unique sound with influences ranging from Neil Young grunge to the quirkiness of The Flaming Lips, to the melancholy and electronic touches of Radiohead and lo-fi layered effect of Sparklehorse.
