Album Notes
Hard Bargain features soulful vocalist "King Arthur" Canady, often compared to Otis Redding & Sam Cooke, backed by a veteran group of seven, including a tight horn section.

"More Than You Bargained For" includes some outstanding originals including "Pop This Pill" (the Viagra song), the bluesy "Forget About It," and the title cut "More Than You Bargained For (Dear Mr. Alligator)". Also featured are 3 unreleased tracks written by Grammy-nominees Jon & Sally Tiven (Wilson Pickett, Little Milton, BB King).

Blues Revue magazine's Tom Cullen called the title track a "brawny blend of slithery Southern rock and greasy funk that delivers the band's mission statement with puissance."

"Such a diverse selection of tunes requires a versatile vocalist, and Canady fits the bill; he can holler or wail with equal doses of grit and grace like his inspirational forebears, Otis Redding, Johnnie Taylor and Little Milton."

"It's a miracle that such regional horn bands exist in 2006. After one listen, you'll want to hear them live."

Richared Ludmerer, Direct of the NY Blues & Jazz society said “Rarely does a real R&B band come up with something original to say...the most improved local band I’ve heard this year...horn arrangements and Canady’s vocals are both outstanding...an impressive set...they’ve arrived.”

The track "Birthday Blues" has been featured at Garageband.com for Best Male Vocals and Track of the Day and Track of the Week, and has been in the Top 10 throughout the Summer of 2005.

In 2002, the group completed its debut CD which has sold in 17 countries and 37 states across the USA. Radio stations in the U. S., Canada and Europe have added Hard Bargain tracks to their playlists.

This CD is one of the best I've bought in sometime! Forget About It is definitely the best song, though all are terrific.

GREAT Album!
I heard these guys in New York City and they were great. All their stuff is worth listening to. No one sings like King Arthur Canady!
