Album Notes

INTRODUCING: The Hard Lessons
Koko Louise, Augie Visocchi, and The Anvil

Hot Young Blood The Hard Lessons don’t suck in a way that can make the most jaded-fuck cynic care about something new again. Somewhere between the rawness of the White Stripes, the power of the Foo Fighters, and the hip factor of Death from Above 1979, is Detroit’s most promising new act, The Hard Lessons.

“Led by the latest Detroit couple -- singer/guitarist Augie and bassist Ko Ko Louise -- come on with a roaring, sultry swagger”.
- Spin (December 2006)

“Thank Christ the Hard Lessons were there before CBGB closed its filthy doors - They made a hipster drop his Rolling Rock and squeal with impressive zeal.” Metro Times (October 2006)

Tuneful, high-energy rock&roll with some soul
Very good EP from a band with a lot of energy and a very good sound from a guitarist, keyboardist & drummer. Lyrics are fine, but could be a bit better. The songs overall are v good and having a guy & girl co-lead singer, both with good voices, make them a bit more unique.
