Album Notes
HARDPAN is not a band – it is more an experience.

HARDPAN is Chris Burroughs, Terry Lee Hale, Joseph Parsons and Todd Thibaud.

All of who have many releases under their own names and bands (mainly Blue Rose Records and Glitterhouse).

2002 saw the release of their self titled first CD. They put their talents in a pot and came out with 13 great songs, which are characterized by acoustic guitars - dobro, harmonica, sometimes electric guitars round the whole thing. And, of course, Voices of the extravagant.

The enthusiastic press drew comparisons to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, after Blue Rose had released the self-titled album. An album by the way, which was recorded during the crazy time of the 9/11 in 2001 within 10 days in Chris Burroughs' studio in Arizona - with lots of tequila and few overdubs.

This was followed by a legendary tour of HARDPAN across Europe. Harmony vocals, guitars and no drums - instead, a box on which the musicians alternately drifted. Somewhere during the tour, they gave this box a name: "Jim" was the fifth member of the band.

In 2003 a live CD was released. Then it was quiet around the band and everyone devoted themselves to their own projects. 2015 saw a hand full of European reunion shows and now - 2017 - finally what the fans have been waiting for a long time: new music.

As a quartet, they reach a music that is hard to beat in terms of quality, intensity and presence.
