Album Notes
Cory Obert, also the fiddler for the CO band "Sweet Sunny South" on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, with his wife Andrea Lecos on clawhammer banjo, guitar and vocals. Their new release, "In A Different Time" is their long awaited first and is a selection of 14 songs, both original and traditional, ranging from duet to five piece arrangements. The selections are a mix of Old-time banjo-fiddle tunes, Honky-tonk, Cajun and Americana-folkgrass. Guest artists include Robin Davis (lead guitar), Jon Stickley (guitar), Glenn Keefe (bass), Randy Utterback (dobro) and Ken Dravis (bass, accordian).

Noteable quotes:

"I've been hosting shows featuring bluegrass, old-timey and folk music for over 25 years now. A dozen or more CDs do their best to clutter my desktop each week... some by established artists, that are usually good, others that are, well, just basically clutter. It's such a pleasure to find a gem among the relative unknowns. It doesn't happen often, but it's happened here with this recording by Colorado based "Hard Pressed". To paraphrase the Hot Rize song they take their name from, they were hard pressed, and they found a way. A way to meld the ringing clawhammer banjo stylings of Andrea Lecos and fiddle playing of Cory Obert on some wonderful instrumentals. But you don't want to pass up the old timey yet contemporary vocals of Ms. Lecos, some in tunes she wrote herself. A nice duet on an old Dylan tune, a lovely country waltz, a straight ahead folk tune or two, a pinch of cajun flavor here and there, it's a great variety and just plain fine music in a new-timey old-timey way. A pleasure to listen to, from start to finish."

~Lee Michael Demsey, host WAMU's BluegrassCountry.org, originating from Washington, D.C.

"Andrea and Cory know exactly what good music should sound like and they know how to do it, honest and pure. Their sound fits perfectly in my living room, a very natural place for sweet acoustic music."

~Pete Wernick "Dr. Banjo"

"There's something beautiful in Andrea & Cory's music that you can hear from the first note of the record. The gentle spirit of the music is authentic (just like these two are) and I love the comforting sound of their voices together and the way their fiddle and banjo speak to one another. Two people who are rooted in community and traditional music come together to make something meant to bring more good into the world - I love to see that!"

~Anne & Pete Sibley

"...your cd is AMAZING !! I am soooo impressed. Your songs have been rolling around in my mind. YALL ARE BADASS!"

~Shannon Whitworth

"As a DJ, I love it when I can't get past the first cut because it's so compelling to play - may take a while to get through your whole disc!"

~Donna Littlefield (KVNF DJ)
