ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Harry Stinson possesses a voice of believability and heart that matters for people who matter.”
Eddie Stubbs, WSM Grand Ole Opry Announcer

Being a Nashville native, Harry grew up with country music. His Dad tuned in the Grand Ole Opry every Saturday night. His older brother brought home hit singles by Stonewall Jackson, Cowboy Copas, Johnny Horton, Patsy Cline the Glaser Brothers and many others. His best friend in high school was Morris West, oldest son of Grand Ole Opry star Dottie West. It was in the West home studio that Harry “became” a singing drummer, working out his skills with Morris and a their first band. In 1970 Dottie offered Harry a job in her band, The Heartaches, touring that summer in package shows with Red Sovine and Don Gibson. That job provided him with his first visit to the Ryman Stage on the Grand Ole Opry where he met Grandpa Jones, Dolly and Porter among others. Dottie hosted parties at her house where Little Jimmy Dickens, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Rita Coolidge, Larry Gatlin and Don Williams were frequent guests.

It is from this background that Harry received the inspiration for his newest collection of songs in Look Out Heart!

“I’ve always loved great singers and PERFORMANCES. That’s what inspired this CD.”

“I’ve tried my best to honor some of my favorites with the help of Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives. You’ll hear bluesy cool in Don Gibson’s “Give Myself a Party” and my own “Make Up Your Mind.” You’ll hear the operatic Roy Orbison in “The Lonliest.” You’ll hear Johnny Horton’s heartbreak in “All For The Love Of A Girl.” You’ll actually hear Jim Glaser on “Let Me Down Easy,” because he’s a guest vocalist on my version. You’ll detect a Wynn Stewart, Buck Owens thread on “Look Out Heart.””

Thank you for listening!
