Made to Change
Steph Hayes has done it again...new songs that define folk/rock in the 21st century. A double cd, Wires and Vines. Wires is more "turn it up to 11" rock...harder, edgier, louder, but her lyrics still paint the picture of the songs. The Vines cd, although acoustic in nature, has its rock moments too. "Underground Railroad" and "Banned Books" could have been written by Woody himself in the 50's...they have that classic folk tale but backed by a band. Steph broke new ground with her Good Problems urban folk/rock band ("Dirty Beauty") in 2006, put out "Mostly True Stories" a live solo cd in 2008, and true to the title, changes it up again with this cd. Steph Hayes is not content to write songs the same way year after year, and we receive the benefit of hearing new, exciting art from her as she, and we, change together. Definitely check out this cd
