Album Notes
Heather Dale is now (and has been for a while) a full-time touring musician, whose original songs explore legends, mythology, history and fantasy. She and her partner Ben Deschamps are cheerful, adventurous, free-spirited people who spend most of each year traveling on concert tours, sharing their music with ‘modern dreamers’ from all walks of life. They fuse the Celtic folk tradition with a healthy mix of world music and rock influences.

But Heather has been many things in her life: a tour guide at a city dump, a foley assistant in the film industry, a 5:00am morning manager at a downtown coffee shop, a promotional writer for a department store, a solder-jockey at a small electronics firm, and a university librarian. It all started in Toronto, Canada... as a kid, she designed fantasy castles, watched Dr. Who, and studied piano. Later she trained to become an environmental educator, and quite coincidentally she discovered the worldwide Medievalist movement: people who seek to foster the best virtues of the Middle Ages and Renaissance in the modern world. Heather started writing songs inspired by romance, courage, and nobility of spirit... using medieval legends like King Arthur's Camelot, then later by delving into other folktales from around the world.

Heather's partner Ben Deschamps has been a gravedigger, Latin teacher, professional farmer, and saxophonist for a English space-rock band. He has several academic degrees, and as been a touring musician for much of his adult life. He plays a staggering number of instruments... and always seems to crave 'just one more' to add to the collection. He and Heather have been on the road full-time since 2004, criss-crossing their way across Europe and most of North America. During long road trips, he keeps himself amused by studying college-level mathematics (for fun), memorizing Homeric Greek verb tenses, listening to Scandinavian heavy metal, playing flute out the sunroof, or dismantling the car's cassette deck.

Their website is www.HeatherDale.com. It has sound clips, free giveaways, an mp3 download store, and tour photos of their various adventures.

"Heather Dale soars . . . an unabashed and uninhibited romantic who has found her voice and her musical wings." (Toronto Star)

“Her music is powerful stuff, reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan but with a depth and resonance rooted in its mythic sources.” (Vancouver Sun)
