Album Notes
Heather Whaley is a seasoned storyteller and singer-songwriter who performs both traditional and original stories and songs to all ages and is known for her musical performances. She tells lively uplifting stories to tiny tots and children, and chooses thought provoking stories with historical content and folklore for older audiences. Heather writes poignant memoir stories about family and life, and adds folk roots jazz and blues based tunes from the heart and soul to enhance her tales. She often connects traditional ballads and songs in her story interpretations. She has three children’s albums and a new five song EP called “Steppin’ Out” with original bluesy/jazz tunes for her “grown-up” audiences.

Heather has toured in Canada, California, South Carolina and Argentina, and is a 2011 recipient of the Storytelling Toronto Alice Kane and Anne Smythe Awards. She has also received grants through Storytellers of Canada for Culture Days and from the Town of Whitby to facilitate community concerts. She is currently Artistic Director for Story Lounge: That’s Life in Durham Region, and StoryFusion Cabaret! In Toronto.
