ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
\"Anthology\" is a wonderful showcase of what the Heath Sisters can do, as it includes selections from three of their vibrant pre-released CD collections, including some live tracks recorded on location. The instrumentation is piano, hammered dulcimer, guitar, cello, Baroque recorder, and flute, with the occasional appearance of glockenspiels, drums and bass. The eighteen tracks here are mostly from the folk or classical tradition, arranged in strikingly fresh ways, along with six original pieces by the Heaths themselves. The playlist is a dreamlike journey that reveals delightful surprises along the way. Make no mistake, the main attraction is always the melody line, and the stunning way that Sarah, Lucy, and Peggy blend their crystal-clear voices with intuition, nuanced passion, and a sense of intimacy that brings the careful listener ever more near.
