Album Notes
The dynamic duo that makes up the powerhouse group HEATTWAVE consists of longtime friends and partners Cash, A.K.A, Da Young Boss and Legacy, A.K.A., Da HearTTbreaker. HEATTWAVE’s conception came in 2007 after both Cash and Legacy who were part of a larger group in 2001 called NBS split up. The two decided to split off on their own and since then they have taken the internet by storm.
Cash and Legacy both hail from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Their career started right after high-school when they became part of a group called ACE-TRES and released their debut album Motion Picture under Tri-One Entertainment. The album sold 5,000 units with no publicity. While the duo was part of NBS, they won the Best Rap Group Award at the 1st annual UMA’s (Underground Music Awards,) in 2003.
HEATTWAVE is a very versatile group. They have hits that are strictly for the streets, clubs, the ladies and the radio. They manage to cover every area, which is why their appeal is so strong.
HEATTWAVE has released 3 current mixtapes with club banging songs and videos that have put them on the map.
1. The Skyscrapers Volume 1.
2. The Skyscrapers Volume 2.
3. Fire Nation.
Off of Volume 1 came the hits Gutta Shit and Paper Chasin. Off of Volume 2 came hits like The Best You Ever Heard, The Rain and On My Way. Fire Nation, which can unarguably be called their strongest mixtape yet had the hits Happy Birthday, Hold The Key and Motivated.
What can be expected next? The Skyscrapers Volume 3 is due to come out this October. It will be their first album released on iTunes and include ringtones and ring back tones. Cash and Legacy both agree that this album promises to surprise and please their fans.
