Album Notes
Hedda Layne's debut recording has received exhilarated responses from all over the world. Electric vocal performances drive these lush, modern, disco-jazz arrangements of standards and originals.

Born and raised in Texas, Hedda's heart belongs to the divas of yesteryear - Ella, Billie, and Lena. Her development as a modern vocalist took her from classical training to torch jazz to big band into rock, onto blues, folk, and most recently into more intimate jazz combos. Collaboration with her partner, guitarist, and writer/arranger Troy Lee Warden, and cutting-edge producer Brandon Bishop has distilled a diverse history into the singular passion of this fiery disc.

The self-titled disc was recorded in the summer of 2001 at Carl Thiel Studios in Austin, Texas, and mastered by Jerry Tubb at Terra Nova Digital Audio.

Every song is special
For those who're growing tired of oldies, rap, boy/girl group blather, the same'o same'o music, and especially of paying for a cd and getting only one decent song on the whole thing - this cd was made for you.

The music will seduce you, so just pour yourself a highball and prepare to let Hedda Layne take you places you've never been.

Fabulous CD!
I can’t stop listening to Heda Layne. Fabulous CD. This is a refreshing, innovative mix of old and new jazz. When is the next CD coming out? Where can I see this group live?

Fresh and Energizing
After a long day, this is without a doubt my new favorite CD to come home to. I turn it up as loud as I can, light some candles and I am totally energized by the fresh, yet tough sexy sound of Hedda Layne. I can't help but play this CD over and over again. Great work Hedda!

Hedda Layne
What can anyone say? Hedda and the band is great! The second TOO album is also majic. These are true professional artists that will hopefully continue for a long time to produce the sound of music.

A great new sound in jazz vocals!
If you like jazz vocal standards, get ready for a treat! Hedda Layne is the quintessential song stylist. Troy Warden is the consumate jazz guitarist/arranger. Together they have created a dynamite duo and a glorious new CD simply titled Hedda Layne. Their renditions of classics like Cry Me a River and The Very Thought of You are the perfect blend of old torch and contemporary jazz. Hedda's style is seductive; her tones are rock steady and pure; her phrasing is impeccable. Troy's guitar is masterful in technique and expression. His arrangements are ingenious in their complexity yet blend perfectly with Hedda's vocals. I'm not the only new owner of this great CD who has asked, "When is the next CD coming?"
