Album Notes
Heidi Joy's version of "Ave Maria" is smooth and pure. Her voice has been described as angelic...

"Joy's clear and controlled voice energizes an uncommon collection of songs, including... the first-ever (vocal) recording of Duke Ellington's Morning Glory': and such all-time Christian favorites as 'Amazing Grace,' 'Via Dolorosa' and 'Ave Maria.'

"Produced by Chuck Penington of the internationally known Mannheim Steamroller, the album both entertains and inspires."

- Catholic Faith & Family Magazine, Vol 36, 2000

Once you hear Heidi Joy, you may get hooked...

“...really fantastic: the best singer BY FAR that has played Playing With Fire yet."
-Rick Galusha, President Homer's Music Stores

“Her National Anthem rendition brings chills to me every time I hear her sing it – she is the best.”
-Bruce Rasmussen, Creighton University Athletic Director

"One of Omaha's top entertainers!"
- Jim Siedlecki, WOWT

Vocalist Heidi Joy grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and has sung professionally since the age of fifteen for hundreds of weddings, private parties, corporate events, and fund raisers. Heidi studied voice with nationally known vocalists/conductors Almeda Berkey and Dr Z Randall Stroope. Heidi majored in Opera Performance at the University of Iowa. As an experienced singer, Heidi is touted as the region’s most “versatile voice,” performing jazz, gospel, inspirational, spiritual, funk, blues, rock, and classical genres.

Heidi performed to thousands with backup band, The Jazzwholes, at the Joslyn Art Museum's acclaimed Jazz on the Green music series in August, 2006. The previous year, Heidi was guest vocalist at the Missouri Valley Conference in St Louis, MO and was a featured artist in the Playing With Fire concert series in Omaha, NE. Heidi also sings the National Anthem regularly at Creighton University basketball games and yearly for the College World Series including three championship games. Just after the recent tsunami struck Southeast Asia, Heidi organized a Tsunami Relief solo concert for which she and her band donated their time and talents. The concert raised $50,000 for the victims.

Heidi began her successful annual Holiday Joy Concerts in 2000 and has been performing to sold-out crowds ever since. Twice she brought her holiday show to Norfolk, NE and by invitation of the Rear Admiral, to the U.S. Naval Base Marianas Islands, Guam. She has been guest vocalist with professional musicians in Colorado, St John in the U.S Virgin Islands, and Omaha. Heidi has performed with many of the area’s finest musicians, including The Jazzwholes, Jimmy Weber, Joey Gulizia, Tim Tyler, Chuck Penington, many Omaha Symphony musicians, as guest vocalist with the Heartland of America Air Force Band. Heidi is a proud member of the Omaha Musicians’ Union.

Heidi has performed in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the island of Guam, Colorado, Missouri, Iowa and Nebraska: at The Holland Performing Arts Center, The Orpheum Theater, The Rose Blumkin Theater, The Witherspoon Concert Hall, The Music Hall, The Joslyn Art Museum's Jazz on the Green, The Qwest Center, and The Civic Auditorium in Omaha.
