Album Notes
David Helfand's 2009 CD release " First Light " is his latest major production. Since his last fully produced album " At the Edge of the Cornish Sea," which was inspired by his first journey to Britain he slowly cultivated and planted seeds for his next major work.

The album is comprised of many pieces David has waited years to record. He is very excited to present them with the accompaniment of a full ensemble that he’s dubbed “ The Majestic Ensemble.” Pieces include his rousing Flamenco inspired guitar driven set closer “ Spanish Castle,” lush atmospheric Harp based
“ First Light, “ which was inspired by an incredible sunset he saw while driving through the Jordan Valley in Israel, Celtic inspired “ Whispering Trees,” and his tribute to his late father who sadly passed away a few years ago called “ Song for my Father.”

The album is about celebration, mourning, our collective journey on the great wheel of time and cherishing the moment. Instruments include Celtic Harp, guitar, mandocello, violin, voices, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion, penny whistle, clarinet and bowed psaltery. This is music of passion and love.
