Album Notes
Helm continues their exploration of music from the Arab World, blending new compositions by Ling Shien Bell with traditional pieces and a great debke song from Lebanon by Zaki Nassif. Working closely with Aubre Hill as producer provided not only a dancer's input but her infectious inspiration can be felt throughout.

Ling Shien has revisited the traditions of Algeria and Egypt for her new creations. Grammy winner Mark Bell provides the percussion tracks on darbuka, riqq, frame drums, and tabla baladi while Ling Shien adds vocals, mizmar, nai, accordion, and kawala. Larry Klein also contributed with oud on the Path to Freedom track. Daniel Rosenboom did most of the recording, mixing, and mastering with a couple contributions from our friend, John A of Little Buddha Studio in there as well.

We have also included the percussion tracks on their own; a great tool for both private use for practicing or performance. We hope you enjoy this collaboration. There is still a huge world of Middle Eastern music to explore and we hope to bring more of it to you in the future.
