Hidden Giants are a band of electric guitars, plaintive melodies, powerful harmonies and resonant piano. They tell narratives of hope, loss, courage and love. The songwriting themes explore historic figures (Dionne Five), structures (Vindolanda) and experiences (Frontierland) which communicate contemporary issues and concerns, which have both personal and universal resonance.
Their sound is original, their own, with a rich bi-vocal led approach which crosses many influences and decades. Returning as a 5-piece in 2020, with a new bassist and singer-keys player means a full and heavier approach to alt-country, bringing a blend of UK-US influences. The sound reflects this: melodic, dulcet, dark, intense, angry, while also gentle.
These tracks are from their forthcoming EP ‘Foundations’, released on 20/02/2020 and follows the home-recorded EP’ Flickering Bulbs’. The leap forward is palpable as this EP eclipses the previous work as they deliver a stunning, compelling sophomore release.

Hidden Giants are closely and strongly linked to Leeds. They live, work, write, practice, rehearse, gig and record in the city. Ever since they began, they have be honing their sound down in the Mabgate area, firstly at Hope House and then Meatlocker in Byron Street Mills. In 2019 they recorded a live session with Square One at Temple of Boom and produced and recorded their forthcoming EP at Greenmount Studios in Armley – it was mastered at Hippocratic Studios in Wakefield. Over the years they have played across the city at venues like The Brudenell Social Club, Oporto, Wharf Chambers, Lending Rooms, Hyde Park Book Club, Headrow House and The Primrose. They’ve also played at various charity events at Chapel FM and Milford Sports Club. Hidden Giants love Leeds are are always looking for new opportunities to contribute and enhance its cultural reputation and output.
