ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Bagpipe music has always been an important part of the Scottish soldiers life. This 10 track album has a selection of 31 tunes including 3 of the many Duty Tunes that regulate a soldiers day in barracks, as well as a Lament for the fallen.

With a history dating from 1859 the London Scottish is one the most famous regiments in the British Army, and still wear the distinctive Hodden Grey of their first Colonel, Lord Elcho. The pipers and drummers have appeared in numerous films and television shows including ‘Tunes of Glory’ and ‘The Longest Day’.

Tunes of Glory
A nice selection of regimental music associated with what remains of the Scottish regiments within the British army. This is a TA band, but they produce a nice, if not totally polished sound. The main issue here is the shortness of the CD. Not even 40 minutes, and hardly any liner notes for the music. I give it 3 stars instead of 4 because of this.
