ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The High Ridge Ramblers are Dave Bing, Andrew Dunlap, and Mark Payne. With fiddle, banjo, and guitar, the trio plays West Virginia mountain music the way they feel it. These experienced West Virginia musicians formed the trio not long ago for fun and to enjoy their appreciation of the sound of the three instruments playing this kind of music. That includes twisty mountain tunes, early bluegrass, ballads, and old-time songs.

The selections on this album mix clawhammer and three-finger style banjo, tunes and songs from West Virginia and elsewhere, as well as traditional style bluegrass. We realize that is musical heresy in some parts, ridiculous as that might seem. But we have great respect and appreciation for these forms of music. We have enjoyed them for years and hope you do too!
