ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
From the heart of Connemara in the west of Ireland, HighTime combine Traditional Irish music with a blend of modern folk influences to produce a rich sound and exciting experience for listeners.

On this debut album, 'Sunda', which in Irish means a sound or a narrow stretch of water, music and tradition from old Ireland are coupled with bold new arrangements. This makes for a tasty platter of story, music and song. Featuring an unusual line up of flute, whistle, harp, bodhrán, guitar and vocals, HighTime make a youthful and energetic statement.

These ten tracks encapsulate an essence of old Connemara. Featuring sean-nós singing, the ancient form of Irish song, some traditional tunes from the Atlantic coast, and a rich and ornate three part harmony in some of our favourite folk songs, this album showcases our contemporary approach on traditional Irish music. 'Sunda' is a diverse collection of music and song from these three young men, all hailing from the village of Ardmore on the rugged west coast.

Great band Great music
I first encountered Seamus in September 2018 when he performed at a “Cherish The Ladies” concert. He played Harp, sang & dancedso well that I sought him out. Leading me to this album. Not disappointed. A truly inspiring collection & a great experience for a converted ‘Saxon’. Keep it up please
