ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Portland's own resident guttersnipes THE HINDI GUNS are back, following up this years acclaimed self-titled debut album with a new and incendiary release, "THE PATRIOT ACT EP," a four song collection which offers evidence that the 'Guns are the most righteous underground band in America today.

Track one, "WE MESS UP THE SYSTEM," is a smokestack rocker featuring special guest LEMMY from MOTORHEAD on the mic. Lem lays down a rant on the subversive importance of the artist. HENRY ROLLINS pops up too, to excoriate Clear Channel radio. Check it out!

The second track is a cover of "Rise" by the great Primal Scream.

Track three, "She's All Right" (Jumpin Jihad Remix) is a cool dub/cut-up edit of a track which appears on the debut album ("The Hindi Guns", also available on CD Baby). Kudos to Simon Widdowson (also producer of The Decemberists) for this rocking remix!

The EP closes with a cover of CCR's "Run Thru The Jungle." But the band use the alternate lyrics penned by Jeffrey Lee Pierce of GUN CLUB. The new lyrics subvert the theme of the original, and in the view of the ' Guns, improve it.

See why David Fricke, senior editor of Rolling Stone called The Hindi Guns "One of my favorite new bands" of 2004.

Cool Music!
I heard the track We Mess up the System when I rented the movie Bad Reputation from Netflix. It had a great soundtrack, but the Hind Guns song stood out the most, so I bought the album. I was not disappointed! Very cool sound, very cutting-edge. I find myself turning off the ipod and just playing the CD when I drive now.

Punk Rock Johnny

very happening ep....is this band still rockin or are they kickin it?
love this ep...any band cool enough to cover the primals is way happening in my punk rock book...cool version of "Rise" features fighter jets..."Run Through The Jungle" is a swampy take on CCR with boss new lyrics..and the opening track with Lemmy guesting is a stone classic, check it out
