Album Notes
Holly Ray has fronted various Los Angeles rock bands including: The Carousel, Exploding Children and Mydoll. Her album "21st Century Catharsis" was written and produced entirely by the artist herself. On the album, Holly Ray sings, plays acoustic guitar and is backed by a live rock band (electric guitar, bass, mandolin, and drums).

The Songs on the Album range from electric to acoustic pop-rock, including some humorously angry folk ("Piss Off And Die"), and one electric punk-rock track ("Depression On My Mind").

Holly Ray's music has an indie rock feel: edgy, honest and darkly humorous lyrics over catchy pop-punk-folk rock melodies. Some of Holly's musical influences are: P.J. Harvey, Bob Dylan, The Pixies, The Ramones, Sheryl Crow, and Patty Griffin.

Wow, what a CD, what a talent. Listening to the first few songs, I thought I was listening to 'Garbage' (I had to check the CD). Further listening, sounded like Natalie Merchant from 10,000 Maniacs.
The CD: a personal diary, a really nice debut album, interesting cover.
