Album Notes
Founded, fronted by, and featuring guitarist Dave Paris and vocalist/keyboardist Barbe Paris, Iowa-based Holy Countdown was active in the early 90's, and pioneered many opportunities within their scene. This band stylistically encompassed arena rock and musician-oriented prog in the Christian rock genre. You would hear the band on several radio stations, read about them in national publications, and see them opening for major acts like Bride and Joe Club. A Des Moines-based radio station even produced a documentary on the group, with two music videos. This provided the group with national indie video coverage. The 1994 EP "Hands of Time" was a four-song professional representation, released only on cassette. It was recorded it at one of the biggest recording studios in Iowa at the time, and the larger-than-life production was filled with multi-layered guitars, keyboards, and vocals.

In the late 90's, Holy Countdown evolved into Dark Spectacle, which featured a darker, more modern/alternative Christian Rock sound. Dark Spectacle released the CD "thoughts on life" in 2001, which also received some radio and print exposure. Eventually this band dissolved in the early 2000's. Guitarist Dave Paris is still active an instrumental solo artist, session musician, and private guitar instructor. He released his instrumental guitar album "Jury of my Peers" in 2015. His wife Barbe still performs as bassist/keyboardist/vocalist for his Dave Paris Group, which released a six-song EP "Words and Music" in 2010.
