Album Notes

The Hop City Hellcats hit the scene back in mid 2012 shaking up the music world with their blend of classic outlaw country and blues....and people are taking notice of their original music and fresh take on a few classics. Just off the stages of the Taste of Country Festival in Hunter,NY these fellas are hitting the ground running with this ambitious self-titled 10 original song album.

The band may be new, but it is comprised of road worthy veterans. On rhythm guitar and vocals, Randy Miritello comes from a background of old-time and country music. In his other music venture, Horseshoe Lounge Playboys, he has toured the country and shared the stage with Levon Helm, Steve Earle, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Felice Brothers and many more. This band showcases his songwriting in a different vein.

Edward Michaels is the man on percussion and harmonica; keeping it all where it needs to be, writing songs and singing. He is a world-class drummer that has toured the world with the acts such as, Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen, Alvin Youngblood Hart, Roy Rogers, Chicken Coupe Deville, Grammy nominee Aaron White and many more. You can hear his original tunes not only with Hop City, but on Sirius XM's bluesville station where his original tune,"Keep the Wolf From My Door", was a click to hit pick.

The twang in the band is provided by Jim Foote on lead guitar. He is a veteran of the blues and has played with many bands in, and around, central New York.

The big man on the upright bass is Benjamin P Gross. Solid as a rock and fluid as a mountain stream all at the same time. Ben is also a veteran of Horseshoe Lounge Playboys and many others; touring the country.
