Album Notes
Gareth Hedges is a veteran acoustic guitarist who has met, travelled and learned from, many of the greats in blues and country like Doc Watson, Gary Davis, Fred McDowell and Son House. He has that hard to get, authentic sound on the guitar and lived-in, leathery vocals. Jeff "the Horse" Horsey has played harmonica and slide guitar for years, in the UK and Australia and has backed up Louisiana Blues man and Excello recording artist, the late, great Tabby Thomas. His harp sound has great tone and phrasing and the one electric slide guitar number, just him and a drummer, gives a nice contrast to the rest of the album. The numbers on this CD get to the heart of the music, making the most of both artists' excellent vocals, including singing harmonies on blues (which is a rare thing to find). The aim was to produce an authentic, pure blues album but the original material ranges from electric slide to solo acoustic guitar pieces, covering a wide breadth of styles.

Two tracks feature drums by George Sonny Horsey and there are keyboards on the title track "Night Shift" by ex King Blues member Josie Ghost .
