ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As a singer and songwriter who has a passion for music, Juanita Curiel followed her calling by auditioning and becoming a back-up singer and dancer for the well-known Las Vegas Entertainer, Wayne Newton. She soon was picked up by the 1970’s group “HOT” as the third female artist, completing the trio. This trio of females was one of the first multi-racial groups to hit the music scene. While a multi-racial group may be common today, it made a bit of a stir in the 70’s.

“HOT” released three albums with Big Tree Records from 1977 to 1979: “HOT” in 1977, “If That’s the Way You Want It…You Got It” in 1978 and “Strong Together” in 1979. Their first album contained the song, “Angel In Your Arms”, that hit Billboards Top Ten and earned them a Gold Album Award with a million copies sold.

During this time, Juanita was inspired to write many of her own works (along with some talented co-writers) and some of her original works were recorded by other artists: “Strength Of A Woman” recorded by The Carpenters and Eloise Laws - Jazz artist, “Christmas In The USA” as recorded by “Wayne Newton”.

Juanita is beginning to release some of the songs she has written and co-written, most of which were recorded by “HOT” but never released. She hopes you enjoy them and the messages they bring.
