Hot Nun

by Hot Nun

Rock is not dead … it's in a holding pattern above Music International - waiting for landing clearance amongst the cacophony of indie bands afraid to use their electric guitars or turn their amps to 11.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hot Nun is a side project of Well Wishers brainchild Jeff Shelton and former Headslide bandmate Braden McGraw. The two set out to rehearse tracks for a debut EP in the summer of 2012, and by fall when recording for basic tracks began at San Francisco’s Trakworx Studios, the duo had amassed a total of 8 songs – including a spirited cover of the David Bowie classic “Queen Bitch”.

Equal parts hard rock and power pop, Hot Nun’s debut album packs a serious one-two punch of full throttle guitar rock with ample doses of melodic hooks and pop vocal flourishes that Shelton has become known for in his almost 20-year career manning the helm of the Well Wishers and former San Francisco power pop trio Spinning Jennies.

Hot Nun is straight up, no frills rock n roll - from the glorious power pop of Spirit of 76 and Fight Fight Fight …. to the swing and boogie of Who Do You Love … to the bombast breakneck hard rock of Who Do You Think You Are? There’s a little bit here for everyone…

Just don’t be afraid to play it loud!
