ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hot Toddy Trio,

On The Salty Sessions Vol. I & II, Hot Toddy deliver two outstanding collections of whip smart roots/blues. The albums’ incomparable energy and musicianship prompted Blues Revue to say, “These guys are incredible…blues are the predominant theme but they work in elements of jazz and, combined with some outstanding original songwriting, deserve to be a household name in Canada and abroad.”

CD Baby

There's a good reason why they call this album the "Salty Sessions." With a twangy, sassy, and definitely salty attitude like you ain't never heard before, Hot Toddy digs deep into the groove of achin' blues with a rowdy, cut-loose and no-nonsense approach. And yet, they also tone it down for the simple lilt of a front porch folk blues tune when needed. Fully exploring the voices of each instrument and going beyond the norm with musicianship and conviction, this blues compilation scores big points with us.
